如果你从穿过南加州橙县尔湾市（Irvine）的五号Freeway的Sand Canyon出口下来往北开，在你的右手边有好大一片空地。大家都很好奇这块地的用途是什么？是要盖一个新的居民小区？还是一个出租公寓社区？还是当作商业地产开发成比如商铺或者办公楼？
如今答案揭晓了，上个月尔湾市通过了将这块大概4英亩的土地转给尔湾社区土地信托，用于建造经济适用房（Affordable Housing），期望能缓解尔湾地区的无家可归人口的住房问题。具体将建造多少户，都有什么样的户型，还有待规划。尽管尔湾社区土地信托已经在尔湾建设了3个经济适用房小区，但是供应量可谓是杯水车薪。
